Damian Johnson - Biospecimens Manager

Although a relatively recent addition to IBIS-II I have worked in cancer research for over 15 years with a particular focus on stratified medicine and treatment of breast cancer,  which has included identifying new targets and treatments as well working on early and late phase clinical trials.

I joined the IBIS-II team as the Biospecimen Manager for the Centre for Cancer Prevention and Barts CTU in 2015. Being primarily responsible for the team co-ordinating the sample collection, processing and long term storage of clinical samples related to a range of trials.

I also develop standard operating procedures and carry out auditing to ensure standards are maintained for all these aspects of the trials as well act as the designated advisor on the Human Tissue Act (HTA) regulations for our licenced holdings at Charter House Square.
